First, the brushwork of official script has strict "statutes"

The traditional brushwork of official script is characterized by: to be right first, to be down first, and to be up first. The front of the pen is horizontal and vertical, and the head is hidden to protect the tail. There are twists and turns, and the back is divided into left and right sides. The geese are not Qi Fei, but the silkworms are headless, and the circle turns into a square fold. In actual writing, it should be remembered that when writing horizontally, the paper should be put in the opposite direction. If you want to go to the right, start from the front of the left hide, then start from the pen in the center, and then go back to the front to collect the pen. If it is a goose tail, wave processing should be done, as shown below. Vertical painting is similar to horizontal painting, but in different directions. You have to write first, not with a pen, similar to the writing of seal script.

Secondly, the stroke outline of Lishu has its own characteristics.

When writing official script, we must pay attention to the outline of its strokes, such as horizontal painting. You can't cut the pen into the paper at both ends like regular script, which is sharp and sharp. The scribbling and scribbling of official script is also to go up first and then down, so as to be light first and then heavy. Graffiti writing method: the end of the stroke is slightly upward, as shown below. The end of the stroke is thick and solid, so you have to go back to the front to collect the pen. The whole pen tip is hidden in the strokes, only the round head can't see the corners.

Third, "Silkworm head and goose tail" and "twists and turns"

The most obvious stroke characteristics of Lishu are the wild silkworm head and the tortuous goose tail. But not all fonts can be handled in this way. Generally speaking, the long transverse wave painting of official script should be "silkworm head and goose tail" and "zigzag". Start the pen to the left, drop the paper to the front, turn the nib to write the silkworm head, and then spread the pen to the right. When it is near the end of the stroke, gently press the pen tip and swallow the goose tail. The whole stroke looks like "twists and turns", as shown below.
