How to interpret Peng Zu in the Yellow Calendar?

Peng Zu, a Taoist pioneer in the pre-Qin period in China, is said to have been a quiet person since childhood. When he grew up, he did not look for a job, nor did he covet a job, but devoted himself to health and self-cultivation. Peng Zu's works spread to later generations, the most famous of which is Peng Zu Classic, which is known as China's first book on health preservation, and of course Peng Zuji, who has far-reaching influence. Today's auspicious day will explain the meaning of Peng Zuji: "Geng is not meridian, loom is empty."

In Gregorian terms, "meridian" is defined as safety machine, weaving, silkworm collection, safety spinning wheel and machine; The so-called "there are no meridians on Geng Day, and the loom is empty" means not to weave or spin on Geng Day.

Geng is the master of the White Tiger, and Geng Ri and Geng Shi are the masters of the White Tiger Heaven. White tiger is in charge of roads, information, military affairs, fighting, immigration, authoritarianism, money, dogs and horses. On this day, if you spin weaving, it means weaving a tight encirclement for yourself, and it is also suspected of blocking the use of things in heaven. It is said that people can't fight against heaven, let alone heaven, so the ancients have this stress.

What does "three Geng" mean?

In ancient China, time was recorded by combining heavenly stems and earthly branches. The number of heavenly stems is 10, which is A, B, C, D, E, Ji, G, Xin, Ren and Gui, and the number of earthly branches is 12, which is Zi, Ugly, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You and Yi. Heavenly stems and earthly branches, Jia Zi, Yi Chou, Bing Yin, Ding Mao, etc. And cross-match 60 times, so it is called 60 jiazi.

Because the number of heavenly stems is 10, there is a Geng Day every 10 day, such as Geng Zi Day, Geng Yin Day and Chen Geng Day. In our country, people make meteorological laws. There are three characters "Geng" from the summer solstice, and the third Geng Day is the first time. This is what the so-called "three Geng" means. "Study in Qionglin" also said: "The first time was the third year of the summer solstice."

And because a year is 365 days (leap year is 366 days), not an integer multiple of 10, this year's Geng Day may not be next year's Geng Day one day. Because of the uncertainty of Gengri, the date of entry is different every year.
