Asura is a Sanskrit transliteration and has also been translated into Asura, Asura, asura, Asura, Ashulun, Ashulun and so on. Due to the large number of kings in asura, their shapes are different, and there are also many versions of the image of King asura. Some of them have nine heads and thousands of eyes, 990 hands and eight feet, and their figure is four times higher than that of Mount Sumi. Some have 1,000 heads and 2,000 hands, stepping on the sea and crossing Mount Sumi; Some have three heads and six arms, three sides are blue and black, their mouths are full of fire, and they are angry and naked. These images are difficult to express. Artists often draw a picture with three eyes or six arms on three sides, or four eyes and four arms, holding the sun and the moon in their hands, standing on their feet in the sea and crossing Xumi Mountain.
There are many stories and legends about King asura in Buddhist scriptures. There are many separate portraits of King asura in the Dunhuang Grottoes besides the portrait of King asura in the painting. Among them, the earliest, highest and most perfect is the disguised map of King asura in Cave 249 of the Western Wei Dynasty. Every elf, figure and building in Asura King's portraits and paintings almost represents a story, and there are about a dozen stories.
