In August of that year, Dr. Sun Yat-sen went north to Tianjin and Beijing successively, which was welcomed by organizations and people from all walks of life and had a great influence. During his stay in Beijing, Sun Yat-sen met with Zai Feng, the royal regent of the Qing Dynasty, which left a suspense for later generations, that is, why did Sun Yat-sen meet Zai Feng? What was their main conversation during the meeting? Is it intentional to "visit the Prince of Alcohol", as some articles say?

In order to clarify the history and answer the above questions, the author has conducted various investigations and studies. Especially after studying the letters written to his brother in 19 12 (Note 2), it is found that the contents not only involve a lot of historical events, but more importantly, several of them talk about and reveal the celebration of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's arrival in Beijing with the royal family members such as Prince Iraq.

19 12 At the beginning of this year, Yuan Shikai instructed Cao Kun to launch the "twelfth mutiny in the first month" in Beijing (Note 3), and took refuge in Tianjin with his mother. There was a constant exchange of letters between the Shaw brothers. At this time, Dr. Sun Yat-sen went north to Tianjin and Beijing. Mr. Sun's Northern Expedition is bound to be a major event of concern to the royal family, and his activities after his first stop in Tianjin have become the most important thing that the royal family is eager to know. Out of loyalty to the royal family, Shao Yi, who lived in seclusion in Tianjin, was duty-bound to be the highest secret agent of the royal family in Tianjin Xun Qing Dynasty. He ran around, asking for information, and told Ying Shao all the news and activities of Dr. Sun Yat-sen before and after his arrival in Tianjin by letter, and then presented them to the small court through Ying Shao. At this time, the communication between the Shao brothers has actually become an important source of information between the royal families of Xun and Qing dynasties.

There are twenty-five letters in this batch, seven of which are related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen's going north. Among these seven letters, the first letter about Sun Yat-sen's going north was five days before Sun Yat-sen arrived in Tianjin (August 23rd), that is, August 2002 19 18. This is a letter from Japanese Shao Yi to Ying Shao. "Recently, Beijing has been busy welcoming Sun Huang, and tianjin railway station has also prepared colorful archways to welcome them, which has not yet expired. I don't know what they will do when they arrive in Beijing this time, but they can also worry "(see figure 1 and figure 2). From this letter, we learned that Dr. Sun Yat-sen's original plan to travel north was to go with Huang Xing. At this time, Shao Yi did not fully understand the purpose of Sun Huang's trip to the north, so he was quite worried.

Three days later (August 2 1 Sunday), Shao Yi wrote to Ying Shao again, telling him that Sun Wen had just heard that he would go to Tianjin this afternoon and stay at the Lishunde Hotel in Tak Street (see Figure 3). At the same time, he warned Ying Shao: "Sun Wen is going to Tianjin, and the train on the way is very inconvenient. I don't know what to do when I get to Beijing, so I can't be careless. ..... Sun Wen arrived in Beijing, and the fear and vacillation of Beijingers are also very worrying. My brother doesn't have to walk around the War Department for daily employment to prevent chaos. " From the text of this letter, we can see that with the approaching date of Sun Yat-sen's arrival in Tianjin, Shao Yi's heart became more and more nervous, and this mentality also showed the fear of the royal family at that time to some extent.

One day later (August 23rd), Shao Yi said in another letter to Ying Shao: "(Zhongshan) is coming to Beijing, but he didn't come because of the bow-raising incident (Note 4). Today, I met a sparrow and a crane cloud, and Yunjin received a telegram. Sun Gong may arrive in Tianjin as early as 1 1. There is also a welcome party and a park in Tianjin. I don't know if there is, it is still inconclusive. " (See Figure 4) In this letter, Shao Yi once again informed Ying Shao of the news of Sun Yat-sen's coming to Beijing, as well as the time of his arrival in Tianjin and the preparations for his arrival in Tianjin. Its purpose is to make the abdicated members of the royal family in Beijing no longer doubt whether Sun Yat-sen will come to Beijing and make all preparations as soon as possible to prevent accidents.

Facing the grand welcoming scene, members of the Xun Qing royal family living in Tianjin gradually turned from anxiety and panic to thinking after observing Sun Yat-sen's activities for several days. In the face of the revolutionary who will arrive in Beijing in a few days, who led the people of China to overthrow the rule of the Qing Dynasty, how should the royal officials deal with what happened in front of them?
