The origin of Youth Day on May 4th.
1939, in order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the May 4th Movement, the Northwest Youth Salvation Federation of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region decided that May 4th was China Youth Day. 1949, People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC) Government Council officially declared May 4th as China Youth Day.
Vacation regulations
According to the Regulations on National Holidays and Remembrances promulgated by the State Council, "Youth Day (May 4th)/kloc-young people over 0/4 years old have a half-day holiday", but the regulations do not specify the upper age limit suitable for people who have a holiday.
In April, 2008, with the consent of the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council, the "Youth Day" holiday is applicable to young people aged 14 to 28, and more than 300 million young people will have a half-day holiday on May 4th every year.
