Jesse's parents are both actors and have participated in many commercial advertisements. When Jesse was 8 months old, he first appeared on the screen in a cotton swab advertisement. At the age of 4, he has become a child star with a regular job. Jesse graduated from Brian McMahon High School in his hometown and entered Columbia University to major in film.

Jesse's film debut was 1984 Falling in Love, but the movie that really caught his eye was the classic film King of the Hills, which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and co-starred by Spalding Rockwell Gray and elizabeth mcgovern on 1993.
