The ancestors of Chaoshan people came from the ancient Central Plains.

Mr. Zu of Chaoshan people is famous overseas in Chaoshan, Guangdong. Chaoshan people belong to a branch of Heluo people. They originated in Chaozhou, Guangdong (now Chaoshan area). Mainly distributed in Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Shanwei, Fengshun County, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan Province Province, overseas coastal areas and Southeast Asia, Western Europe, North America and Australia.
