I want to ask about the legend of Dragon Boat Festival.
Dragon Boat Festival Legend 1: In order to commemorate Qu Yuan, in 278 AD, the State of Qin invaded the capital of Chu. Seeing that his motherland was invaded, Qu Yuan could never give up his motherland. Finally, on the fifth day of May, he wrote his masterpiece Huai Sha and drowned himself in the Miluo River.
After the people heard about it, they organized people to row boats to rescue and salvage, and finally failed to find Qu Yuan's body.
In order to mourn, people rowed on the river to find Qu Yuan's body, and later it gradually developed into a dragon boat race.
Fearing that fish and shrimp would eat Qu Yuan's body, the people went home and threw rice balls into the river, which later evolved into the custom of eating zongzi. With the development of time, people set the fifth day of May as a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.
Legend 2 of Dragon Boat Festival: Wu Zixu, Wu Zixu, a native of Chu. Because his father and brother were both killed by King Chu Ping, he went to Wu to help him attack Chu. After Wu Zixu invaded the capital of Chu, he dug the grave and whipped the corpse to avenge his father.
Later, the King of Wu died, and his son Fu Cha succeeded to the throne, thus breaking the state of Yue. Gou Jian, King of Yue, made peace, and Fu Cha allowed it. Wu Zixu suggested killing the King of Yue directly, but Fu Cha wouldn't listen. Tu Wu was bought by Yue State and slandered Wu Zixu.
Fu Cha listened to rumors and sentenced Wu Zixu to death.
Wu Zixu is a loyal man, and he is not afraid of death. Before he died, he said to his neighbor, "After I die, I will hang my eyes at the east gate of Beijing to watch the Vietnamese army destroy Wu."
And then committed suicide. Hearing this, Fu Cha was furious and ordered his men to put Wu Zixu's body in a bag and throw it into the river on the fifth day of May. Later, in order to commemorate Wu Zixu, people designated the fifth day of May as a memorial day.
Legend 3 of Dragon Boat Festival: In memory of filial piety, there was a family in a village named Cao, whose female name was Cao E. One day, his father drowned and his body was not seen for several days. At the right time, fourteen-year-old Cao E cried all day by the river, looking for her father's body. She looked everywhere for 17 days, but she couldn't find it.
It is a myth that you jumped into the river on the fifth day of May and lost your father and surfaced five days later.
Later, this incident spread to the county magistrate, who ordered Duchamp to erect a monument for this incident and asked his disciple Han Danchun to make a eulogy. Since then, the Dragon Boat Festival has also become a day to commemorate the filial daughter Cao E.
