2. Weaning method

(1) One-time weaning method: When the piglets reach the scheduled weaning age, the sows are driven out and the piglets are kept in the original pen. The method is simple and feasible, and is suitable for industrialized large-scale pig farms.

(2) Batch weaning method: in the same nest, take the bigger piglets away, leave the smaller piglets to breastfeed, and then drive the sows away in a few days, so that the weak piglets can live in the original circle. The advantage of this method is to increase the weaning weight of weak piglets and effectively improve the survival rate of piglets.

(3) Step-by-step weaning method: When piglets are about to reach the predetermined weaning age, control the lactation times of sows five days in advance, then gradually reduce the lactation times of sows until the weaning day, and then isolate sows. The advantage of this method is that both sows and piglets have a certain adaptation process, which greatly reduces the occurrence of sow mastitis and weaning stress of piglets.
