Rebuilding Zhao Pu Temple in Foguang Mountain

Dear mountain elders, great laymen and social colleagues,

There are no clouds before, so are the dharma circles. I am a Buddha, and I often play subtle methods.

Zhao Pu Temple is located on Foguang Mountain on a hillside in shangzhi city, Heilongjiang Province. It was initiated by lord protector and local gentlemen. It was built in the first year of pseudo-Datong (1932) and the fifth year of pseudo-Kant (1936). It is large-scale, the hall is magnificent, the sculptures are magnificent and colorful, and the expressions are different and lifelike, especially the walls in the hall are equipped with a large number of murals.

Zhao Pu Temple, together with Gokurakuji in Harbin and Lengyan Temple in Yingkou at that time, was called the three major temples in Northeast China. During the Cultural Revolution, all the Buddha statues in the temple were smashed and all the monks in the temple were scattered.

Master Zeng Zhuoxi, the 44th ancestor of Tiantai Sect, once gave lectures here. After the completion of Zhao Pu Temple, Gokurakuji sent Master Lu Guang to receive the first abbot. After the abbot went through three doors, Master Lu Guang was transferred, Master Ding was appointed as the second abbot, the third Master Pu Ri, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth Master Bao Sheng. At the invitation of the shangzhi city Religious Affairs Bureau, Master Shi was appointed as the seventh abbot.

With the approval of shangzhi city Municipal Government and Religious Affairs Bureau, the foundation stone laying and surrounding construction of Tianwang Temple will be held on July 24th and June 9th, 2005. The main building of this temple, Tianwang Temple, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2006. This project needs a lot of human, material and financial support. I hope my Buddhist colleagues and social sages will give generously. It is said that people will be blessed on the road, Kutokuhayashi. When laying the foundation stone for the "Temple of the Heavenly King", it was hard to meet fate. I hope that eminent monks, virtuous men and virtuous women at home and abroad will believe in Bodhisattva and plant Futian widely. On the merit tablet on the day of the completion of the Ursa Major Hall, the name will be remembered forever, and the Buddha and Bodhisattva will always bless peace and good luck. The completion of Zhao Pu Temple will bring a considerable day to your politics and economy.
