At first, he couldn't show his ambition. He farmed at home, went to work in a large local family, met Miss Liu, got married and had children. He followed his wife's advice and began to join the army, which later opened his legendary life of 40 years in the battlefield.

In the last years of Zhenguan, he joined the army and fought for decades. He defeated the nine surname Tiele, surrendered to Koguryo and defeated the Turks. He has made outstanding achievements, leaving behind stories such as a good plan to stop the war, three arrows to settle the Tianshan Mountains, bravely collecting Liaodong, benevolent administration of North Korea, loving the people like Xiangzhou City, taking off his hat and retreating ten thousand enemies, and sealing Pingyang County.

He fought side by side with Emperor Taizong and Li Shimin, and his official position was extremely high. After his death, he quietly built a tomb, and no one recorded it. Today, Xue's tomb has been specially protected.
