What are the customs in Hefei?
On the Mid-Autumn Festival, Hefei people not only eat moon cakes, but also eat lotus roots without silk in Baohe. It is said that in his later years, Bao Zheng Renzong wanted to give half of Hefei to Bao Gong, but Bao Gong refused. But Renzong insisted on sealing it, and finally sealed him a moat. Bao Gong had to seal it up, but he was very upset. Seeing the lotus root in the moat, he made regulations on the lotus root. Lotus root can be eaten but not sold. Bao Zheng is iron, but it's even (private). Strange to say, the lotus root in other places is broken, but the lotus root in Baohe has no silk. Since then, Hefei has left a two-part allegorical saying "Lotus root is in Baohe-no silk (private)". Inheriting this legacy, Bao Zheng's descendants tasted lotus root in Baohe on Mid-Autumn Festival and added rock sugar to show "Bing Xin's selflessness".
