What is the solar term transplanting? Transplanting rice seedlings in winter is a farming custom spreading in Jixi, Anhui Province. Every winter when rice is planted, in order to pray for a bumper harvest in autumn, winter transplanting ceremonies are held in various places.
Every household steamed bags with new wheat flour, kneaded the flour into the shape of five grains, six animals, fruits and vegetables, and then dyed it with vegetable juice as a sacrifice, praying for the bumper harvest of five grains and the safety of the villagers.
According to legend, "Anmiao" originated in the late Tang Dynasty and early Song Dynasty, and gradually flourished in the Daoguang period in the late Qing Dynasty. According to historical records, the sixth day of the sixth lunar month is God's mother's birthday, and it is the day to knock gongs, burn paper and plant small red flags in the corners of fields.
In the villages of Fuling, Beicun, Hu Jia, Shantou and other places, on the first Dragon and Tiger Festival after planting awns, monks were invited to fast, and then the flag was raised and drums were played, and Master Qiu was carried around the fields to pray for good weather and bumper harvests, so it was called "Anmiao".
What is the custom of planting awns? Before planting awns, all farmers planted rice seedlings and grain, which made farmers feel gratified. As a sign of joy, the village head summoned venerable elders to choose auspicious days, and every household steamed bags with new wheat flour, kneaded the flour into the shape of fruits and vegetables of five crops and six livestock, and dyed it with vegetable juice as a sacrifice, praying for a bumper harvest of five crops and the safety of villagers.
Therefore, after the last farmer in each village plants rice seedlings, the patriarch will show the "Anmiao Sticker" to indicate the date of Anmiao. Generally speaking, due to the climate difference north of Lingnan Ridge, Dengyuan area in Lingnan usually chooses an auspicious day after mango seeds are sown, while the area north of Lingnan Ridge is basically held on June 3 every year.
If the specific date of the "Anmiao" in each village is undecided, it will be decided by the village owner depending on the progress of family affairs in the village. Although it is not the same day for each village to make bags and do exercises, not only villagers can come to Anmiao to taste bags and candied fruit at will, but people from other villages can also enjoy happiness in the village, and the festive atmosphere is everywhere.
Anhui Jixi Anmiao custom prepares all kinds of food for Anmiao Bao, which is handmade by local villagers, among which "Anmiao Bao" is the most representative.
Anmiaobao can be made into meat stuffing, crystal stuffing, tofu stuffing, bean paste stuffing and so on according to different fillings. There is also a descendant of glutinous rice balls, round, large and small, which is very pleasing. The folds of Anmiaobao are very particular, usually 8 or 12, which have different meanings.
Besides being a sacrifice, Anmiao Bao was also given to each other by the village neighbors on Anmiao Festival to express their wishes for a bumper harvest and good luck in the coming year.
The most important ceremony for the princes to watch Mi 'an Miao Festival is the princes to watch rice, which is the core part of the traditional festival custom of Mi 'an Miao Festival. Wang Gong was Hua Wang, a peasant leader at the end of Sui Dynasty, and also a celebrity and great man in Huizhou history.
The ceremony of watching rice by princes began with a parade, which was similar in style to many traditional folk parades, but also with gongs and drums. Later, two village elders held holy water and willow branches and sprinkled water along the way to show that the princes nourished the land and prayed for abundant rain. The statue of Wang Gong sits in a sedan chair carried by four people, and someone behind him holds commemorative incense sticks and other items. Then the villagers marched together.
Before eating, you should pay a flag. The traditional practice is said to be to kill live chickens. It's not so bloody now. Just draw some chicken blood on the flag. After the flag ceremony, everyone carried Wang Gong's sedan chair and began to look at the rice along the set route.
