Ancient poems describing orioles
Orioles
In the works of ancient poets, cuckoos always crow, while orioles sing crisply and tactfully, and the air is fresh and cheerful. With it, spring has sound, color and vitality. So oriole has also become a frequent visitor in the poet's works.
In Shu Xiang, Du Fu wrote "Two orioles singing green willows, a line of egrets flying into the sky" and "Spring grass dyeing the steps, birds singing and flowers smelling". Wei wrote in Xixi Chuzhou: "The only grass grows by the stream, and the orioles sing in the trees." There is a famous sentence in Wang Wei's "Don't Do Business in Wangchuan after Rain": "Egrets fly to secluded marshes, mango trees sing."
Today I will share two more classic poems of oriole. Liu Zongyuan, a song of the Tang Dynasty, deeply linked oriole with homesickness; A song written by Yan Shu in Song Dynasty, in which he regards oriole as the representative of the most beautiful spring scenery, is leisurely and moving.

As soon as Liu Zongyuan heard the voice of oriole, he regarded oriole as a "country bird", because it was a bird he had seen in his hometown, so seeing it here was not only refreshing, but also evoking homesickness.
Hearing the chirping of orioles, I interrupted my sleep, and various scenery of my hometown came to my eyes. Under the guidance of an oriole, the poet wandered with his thoughts to his hometown thousands of miles away, where there were magnificent landscapes, endless green wheat waves, villagers' gossip and smoke curling up.
Under the vast sky, there are free-flying orioles. Therefore, when the poet lived in a foreign land thousands of miles away, he was surprised to see birds flying under the sky in his hometown.
At the end of the poem, he said, why do birds from your hometown come here? Turn your wings and fly back, your favorite Xilin Mulberry is about to mature! Poetry deeply connects oriole with his hometown, which is sincere and moving. The poet's heart seemed to fly with the orioles and returned to the village.
