Step 2 get married

3. Sing a nocturne

"Nocturne" is a funeral ceremony and a kind of mourning. Old people and adults in Yueyang County usually have funerals when they die. In some parts of this country, the ancient custom of "serenading" still remains. After nightfall, the singer surrounded the coffin with his dutiful son, beating gongs and drums, eulogizing, and his tone was sad.

Step 4 sit at night

Overnight, besides singing, there were gongs and drums, whipping and bowing to the dead. Relatives and friends sit by the coffin all night listening to songs, commonly known as "mourning" or "sitting at night"

Step 5 choose a cemetery

Choose a cemetery and build a grave with blue bricks and lime (overhead, not closed). After death, put the coffin on the seat and seal the door. This is the grave. Now, since the funeral reform and cremation promotion, the people have changed their old habits, and only a few remote villages still have such old habits.
