Why is building a lamp called "building a lamp" instead of "blessing a lamp"

Why is porcelain built in a kiln?

Collectively known as Jian Zhen?

Why not call it Fuzhan?

Why not weigh the bowl and the cup? Also called a light?

This is related to the development of tea culture in China.

What does it matter?

Today's topic: Why is the Jianzhan made in Fujian called "Jianzhan" instead of "Fuzhan"?

The emergence and prevalence of Jianzhan mainly originated from the need of Fujian people to compete for tea in Song Dynasty. With the spread of the wind of fighting tea, it was accepted by scholars and gradually expanded to all levels. At this point, from emperors to generals, down to ordinary people and temple monks, lanterns are used to order food, fight and drink tea, and lanterns provide tailor-made functional devices for this purpose.

It is true that the functional significance of Jianzhan is beyond doubt, but its name is controversial and confusing in academic circles. This kind of controversy and confusion mainly comes from the following points:

Why not call it Fuzhan? Let's call it building a station.

First, it is considered that the "building" of Jianzhan refers to Fujian in general, so building a kiln is a "blessing kiln" in a broad sense, and building a lantern can also be a "blessing lamp" in a broad sense?

Why call it a lamp instead of a bowl or a cup?

Secondly, in the Tang dynasty, tea sets were called tea bowls and tea ou, but in the Song dynasty, why didn't they continue to use this title and just produced a "lamp"?

In order to solve these disputes, Zhan Tong, Jr. specially consulted relevant materials, and now he is answering these two questions for the students. Why?

Jian Zhan's "Debate" and "Debate"

Why not call it Fuzhan? Let's call it building a station.

In ancient times, there were five states: Fuzhou, Jianzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Tingzhou. Fujian is named after Fuzhou and Jianzhou. Fujian Province was called Fujian Road in Song Dynasty. At that time, Fuzhou was in charge of Fujian Road politics and Jianzhou was in charge of Fujian Road economy and culture. Historically, Jianzhou was the political, economic and cultural center of northern Fujian.

(Jianzhan was produced in Shuiji, Jianyang today, under the jurisdiction of Gujianzhou, less than 40 kilometers away from Beiyuan Imperial Tea Garden)

The kiln site is located in Hou Jing Village and Chizhong Village, Shuiji Town, Jianyang District, Nanping City, Fujian Province. Jian 'an Kiln (also known as Jian 'an Kiln and Jianzhou Kiln) was named because it belonged to Jian 'an County (or Jianzhou, now Jian 'ou City) in ancient times. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, porcelain kilns were always named after their counties, such as Yaozhou Kiln, Jizhou Kiln, Yuezhou Kiln, Xingzhou Kiln and Dingzhou Kiln. The word "Zhou" is sometimes omitted, such as the last three kiln mouths mentioned above, which are usually called Yue Kiln, Yue Kiln and Yue Kiln. Jianyao, the abbreviation of Jianzhou Kiln, is a representative famous kiln in Song Dynasty.

Jianzhan is a self-built kiln, which is fired in Jianzhan kiln and mainly produces black glazed teacups. In the annals of tea, Cai Xiang (10 12 ~ 1067), a famous tea scientist in Fujian province, clearly explained "Jian Zhan": the color of tea is white, and it should be black. Jian 'an is made of black, and the tattoo is like rabbit hair. Its cup is a little thick, so it is difficult to be hot or cold for a long time, so it is the most important to use it. Those who go out of town, whether thin or purple, are not as good as them.

The "black lamp" in the text is the floor lamp; Jian 'an, that is, Jian 'an, refers to Jianyang, Fujian, where the kiln is built, rather than Jianzhan, which some scholars think, refers to Fujian. Since then, building kiln is a broad sense of blessing kiln, and building lamp is a broad sense of blessing lamp. It is not only a unique name, but also reflects the position, modeling characteristics and style of the times of the kiln mouth. Simple and easy to read, it can be described as killing two birds with one stone. The word "building a lamp" is also the embodiment of the charm of kiln porcelain as a famous product "born for tea".

Why call it a lamp instead of a bowl or a cup?

If you are a modern person who doesn't play with building lanterns, I'm afraid the first reaction when you see the shape of building a kiln is to call it a bowl. Then almost all the kilns are burning tea bowls. Why do people collectively refer to kiln tea bowls as "lights"?

First of all, the custom of drinking tea in China originated in the Tang Dynasty, which came later than the custom of drinking. The earliest drinking utensils of China people were used together with drinking utensils and tableware before the Tang Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, tea became more and more popular, and Lu Yu specially wrote a book on tea classics. Tea drinkers also pay more attention to the taste of tea, and drinking tea becomes both exquisite and daily. Therefore, tea drinkers began to have special requirements for tea drinkers, such as texture, color, ability to maintain aroma and so on.

Since the Tang Dynasty, China's tea sets have developed rapidly and frequently appeared in literati's works. From these poems, we can see that different dynasties have different names for tea sets.

In the Tang Dynasty, tea drinking utensils were usually called "tea bowls" and "tea ou". The frequency of "tea ou" in Tang poetry is much higher than "tea bowl". What does "ou" mean? The word "ou" is annotated as "small basin" in Shuowen, but what is the difference between it and pots, bowls, cans, cups and lamps is still inconclusive. Or it can be understood as the general term for tea set in Tang Dynasty.

Compared with cups, cups are mostly used for drinking and cups are mostly used for drinking tea. The shape of the cup is smaller, the shape of the cup is bigger, the feet of the cup are more, and the circle of the cup is more. The decoration of the cup is simple, but the decoration of the cup is complicated. Through the evolution of cups and cups, we can see the profoundness of China culture.

Xiao Daoren went out to Nanping Mountain to try tea samadhi.

Suddenly startled by the rabbit fur spot in the afternoon, I made a spring jar of goose wine.

-Su Shi's "Send Nanping Modest Teacher"

Since the Song Dynasty, the bowls used for drinking tea are smaller and more exquisite than those used for eating. In order to distinguish them, the bowl for drinking tea is called a teacup. The "sword lamp" is the favorite black glazed porcelain teacup used by Song people when ordering tea. She is known as the pearl of porcelain altar for her unique glaze artistic style. Many young scholars are also excited about poetry. Su Shi, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, wrote two famous poems, "I suddenly smell the rabbit in the afternoon and sprinkle the goose in the spring jar", which is a portrayal of the praise caused by the magnificent color of "building lanterns".

What little Zhan Tong wants to say is,

Everyone has a Hamlet in his heart to make a lamp.

Whether it is clear or not, there is controversy and confusion about the truth.

As long as they are not macroscopic.

There are obstacles to the interpretation of the artistic value and the definition of functional significance of Jianzhan.

But the existence of controversy and chaos itself shows that

This should be further clarified and discriminated.

Only in this way can we correctly interpret the seemingly simple and clear proposition of "what is making lights".

Conclusion-what is a station?

Status: One of the eight famous porcelains in China in Song Dynasty (representative of black porcelain).

Origin: An County (now Jianyang, Fujian), the capital city of Song Dynasty.

Because the place of origin is Song Jianzhou, it is called Jianzhan.

What is making a lamp? Jane lamp is a kind of kiln-transformed crystallized black glaze tea lamp, which is fired in a kiln. As a functional device tailored for tea ordering, tea fighting and drinking, sword lamp is not a general term for black glazed teacups, nor is it a generalized "blessing kiln", nor is it a generalized "blessing lamp". "Building" of "Jianzhan" is a kiln name named after the country according to the convention of China ancient kiln, and "Jianzhan" is the reference of tea drinking utensils. The combination of "Jane" and "Exhibition" to complete the "Jane Exhibition" is only the result of the unique word-making method in the Song Dynasty.

It is worth noting that the equal share of "Zhan" with "bowl", "ou" and "cup" does not mean that the word "Zhan" is widely used. As a disyllabic word in ancient Chinese, "Jianzhan" cannot be widely used, and it is a natural result that it is difficult to find its trace in many ancient tea books.

For example, the book Tea Classic published by China Textile Publishing House in 2006 collected 1 1 books related to tea from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, including Lu Yu's Tea Classic. Among them, the word "building lanterns" only appeared in Lu Yancan's Tea Classic 1 time. It seems that the word "making lanterns" has been widely used in the Song Dynasty.
