"Yala" means "willing" in Tibetan. It is understood that Yala Snow Mountain is a sacred mountain representing sacrifice and dedication, and it is the patron saint of Bamei region, which cannot be desecrated.

There is a folk legend that the God of Mount Animaqing, at the request of the gods, is willing to let his eldest son come to Yala Snow Mountain.

Yala Snow Mountain is 5820 meters above sea level, located in Longba River valley, the second peak of Daxueshan Mountains, facing Gongga Mountain, the king of mountains in Sichuan Province, and complementing Tagong Temple. Its top is covered with snow all year round, and it is a sacred mountain worshipped by Tibetans in Kangba area. There is a record about this mountain in the Tibetan ancient book Shenshanzhi Yi Jie Road, calling Yala Snow Mountain "the second Shambhala".

Seen from Tagong grassland, Yala Snow Mountain looks like a lotus throne; Seen from Bamei Town, Yala Snow Mountain is crowned; Looking from Nongge Mountain, Yala Snow Mountain looks like a sitting Buddha, which is very realistic. On a auspicious day, the snowy mountain sits under the blue sky, and a mushroom-shaped white cloud rises, just like a light smoke of sacrifice; At dusk, colorful clouds fly over Yala Snow Mountain, and the fairy music is fluttering, and visitors seem to have stepped into the gate of heaven.
