Tomb-Sweeping Day, also known as the Walking Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day Festival, March Festival and Ancestor Festival, is a grand traditional Chinese New Year, which belongs to the traditional cultural festivals of pursuing the future with caution, worshiping ancestors and promoting filial piety.

There are many customs in Tomb-Sweeping Day. Due to different regional cultures, there are also differences in content or details among different parts of the country. Although customs vary from place to place, sweeping graves, offering sacrifices to ancestors and hiking are the same basic customs. Tomb-Sweeping Day is not only a solemn festival to pay homage to ancestors, but also a happy festival for people to get close to nature, travel and enjoy the fun of spring.

It is said that the origin of Tomb-Sweeping Day began with the "grave-sweeping" ceremony of ancient emperors and generals. Later, people followed suit, and it became a fixed custom of the Chinese nation to worship ancestors and sweep graves on this day.

Zhong Er, the son of the State of Jin, went into exile 19 years. He was followed by guards and made great contributions. Zhong Er returned to the throne, that is, Jin Wengong. Jiezitui carried his mother and hid in Mianshan. Jin Wengong went to look for it, but he couldn't find it. Therefore, he let Yamakaji leave, trying to bridge the gap.

I didn't expect meson tui and his mother to hold a big tree, preferring to burn to death rather than go out of the mountain. Sadly, Jin Wengong ordered Mianshan to be renamed Jieshan, and the day when Jietui was burned to death was designated as Cold Food Festival. Year after year, it is forbidden to make a fire and eat cold meals during the Cold Food Festival to commemorate it.
