Under the simple test of air leakage of vacuum booster pump, press the brake pedal at idle speed. Turn off the air conditioner switch, and then don't step on the brake or clutch when idling. Pay attention to idle speed. If there is still fluctuation, clean the throttle and replace the spark plug.

The brake booster pump is a large-diameter vacuum chamber with a diaphragm with a push rod in the middle, which divides the chamber into two parts, one part is communicated with the atmosphere, and the other part is connected with the engine intake pipe through a pipeline. Engine flameout, because there is no intake vacuum, so there is no power, braking will require a lot of manpower.

Working principle of vacuum booster pump

The brake booster pump uses the principle that the engine sucks air when working, so that one side of the booster generates vacuum and the other side generates pressure difference relative to the normal air pressure, which is used to strengthen the braking thrust. Even if there is only a small pressure difference between the two sides of the diaphragm, due to the large area of the diaphragm, it can still generate a great thrust to push the diaphragm to move to the low pressure end.

In the working state, the push rod return spring makes the brake pedal in the initial position, and the one-way valve at the connection between the vacuum tube and the vacuum booster is in the open state. In supercharger, it is divided into vacuum chamber and application chamber by diaphragm. These two chambers can communicate with each other and are isolated from the outside world most of the time. The gas chamber can be connected to the atmosphere through two valve devices.
