How to transplant azaleas

Methods/steps

Transplant time:

The best time is from the autumnal equinox of the lunar calendar to the Qingming of the following year (transplanting before flowering). At this time, the nutrients in the trunk are sufficient, the sap does not flow, the weather temperature is low, and the ground temperature is high. Transplanting in January is best, because heavy snow kills pests and reduces germs.

Soil for transplantation:

The root system is damaged during transplanting, so clean and sterile small loess is the best. Fertile soil and impurity soil can rot injured roots, so can coarse river sand. The soil should be granular, too fine to drain. River sand is clean and free of bacteria, which is also a good choice. When it survives, fertile soil can be used.

The soil in the field is airtight and it is easy to suffocate the roots. The mortality rate of plants planted in soil unfavorable to water is high. If planted in the ground, get some river sand mixed in.

Rhododendron is a shallow-rooted tree species and cannot be planted too deep. If you plant it too deep, you will suffocate because of lack of oxygen.

Watering:

Yingshanhong likes humid climate. When transplanting, water every three days. If the soil is too wet and the ground temperature is low, there will be fewer new roots, and some plants can live to the next spring. Therefore, watering azaleas depends on the degree of dryness and wetness of the soil. As long as the soil is kept moist, that is, the soil surface in rural areas is not "white", there must be no water accumulation.

Water should be done before 9: 00 am or after 5: 00 pm. Do not water or apply pesticides when the sun is shining. Water more in sunny days, drain more in rainy days, and the ditch should be deep.

Rhododendron Rhododendron is one of the three famous flowers in China, so there is a poem by an ancient poet in China to describe them: "The water butterfly rock bee is unknown, and there are thousands of red Wan Yan."

There are about 800 species of rhododendrons in the world, and there are 650 species in China.

Most of them are distributed in the mountainous areas of northern Yunnan, southeastern Tibet and northwestern Sichuan in the southwest.

Rhododendron is deeply loved by people in China and has a long history of cultivation in China. It was cultivated in the Tang Dynasty at the latest, and the main cultivated variety was rhododendron (Rhododendron).

This kind of rhododendron is widely distributed in the Yangtze River valley and southern China, with a wide variety and famous pomegranate, commonly known as cornucopia.

Its petals are slightly sweet, refreshing and delicious, and are deeply loved by some mountain children in the south.

When in full bloom, "the mountains are red."

Therefore, there is such a children's song in the mountainous area of Fujian: "The horns are full of red mountains; Golden cherry blossoms, white bitter fleabane bitter fleabane.

"Rhododendron alias is therefore.

Because of its colorful flowers, Bai Juyi praised it as "everything in flowers is like beauty, and hibiscus and peony are all there", so Du Fu has the reputation of "beauty in flowers".
