The history of Lushun

Lushun has a long history. Humans lived there 5000 years ago. The Han Dynasty belonged to Dashi County, the Eastern Jin Dynasty to Mashijin, the Sui and Tang Dynasties to Li Du Town, and the Yuan Dynasty to Shizikou. In the fourth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (137 1), Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, sent two generals, Ma Yun and Wang Ye, to cross the sea from Penglai, Shandong Province.

1880, the Qing government established the Beiyang navy here, built a military port, repaired a battery, built a dock and set up a camp. Lushunkou became a military fortress and Lushun military port became one of the five famous military ports in the world at that time.

As the main battlefield of the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese War of 1894 (1894) and the Russo-Japanese War (1904), Lushun left an important page in the history of China and the world.
