On this day, people in Wenzhou, Zhejiang collect "ten kinds of whites" (there are also "three kinds of whites") and snuggle up with black-bone white-haired chickens (or ducks). These "ten kinds of white" are ten kinds of herbs with the word "white", such as Trichoderma, white hair bitter and so on, which literally corresponds to "white dew"

Drink green tea

Old Nanjing, which loves tea, is very fond of "Bailu Tea". At this time, the tea tree is in the excellent growth period after the summer heat.

Brief introduction of white deer

Millennium is the fifteenth solar term among the twenty-four solar terms, and autumn is the third solar term, indicating the end of the Qiu Meng season and the beginning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is an important festival reflecting the temperature changes in nature. The Millennium is the end of the application of the moon in the Millennium calendar and the beginning of January. The time point is September 7th to 9th every year in Gregorian calendar, and the sun reaches longitude 165 degrees.

Millennium is the solar term with the largest temperature difference between day and night. Before and after the Millennium, the summer heat gradually disappeared, the yin of heaven and earth rose and spread, the weather gradually turned cold, and the dew in the morning became thicker and thicker, condensing into a layer of white water droplets on the surface of grass leaves. The ancients used four seasons with five elements. Autumn is golden yellow and golden white, so it is called "White Dew" because it is white.

According to their own observation of nature, the ancients in China divided the Millennium into three stages: "When the geese come, when the mysterious birds return, and when the birds are ashamed." This means that this solar term, migratory birds such as Hongyan and Swallow fly south to avoid the cold, and hundreds of birds begin to reserve dried fruit food for the winter. At present, farmers are also busy harvesting crops. As the saying goes, "If you grab autumn, you will lose it." During the Bailuyuan period, local folk customs mainly included offering sacrifices to Dayu, brewing grain wine and drinking Bailuyuan tea.

Meteorological changes of Bailu solar terms

After the Millennium solar terms passed, the summer monsoon was gradually taken over by the winter wind, and the cold air gradually moved south. In addition, the position of direct sunlight on the ground moves south, which shortens the sunshine time and weakens the sunshine intensity in the northern hemisphere. At night, it is often partly cloudy and sunny, the ground radiation dissipates quickly, and the temperature drops gradually. There is a saying called "Qiu Qiu in a thousand years, it is cold all night." Starting from the Millennium solar terms, according to the standard of dividing the four seasons by climatology, all localities began to enter autumn one after another. At this time, the temperature difference between day and night in China can reach 8℃- 16℃, so the Millennium is also the solar term with the largest temperature difference in a year, so you can keep a coat at your side at any time.
