What is an idle valve and what is its function?

Idle speed control valve is powered by ignition switch. Once the ignition switch is turned to the on position, the idle speed control valve is energized, and the engine computer controls its circuit to be grounded. This valve is used to adjust the idle speed when the engine operating parameters deviate from the normal value. Idle speed is regulated by controlling the amount of air bypassing the throttle body. Function of idle valve: 1. When the engine speed is lower than 750 rpm, the idle speed regulating valve responds immediately to increase the engine speed, and when the engine speed exceeds 1050 rpm, the idle speed regulating valve stops responding. For vehicles equipped with air conditioning system, the regulating valve is also called idle acceleration valve. After the air-conditioning compressor responds, the engine load and engine idle speed decrease, and the idle speed regulating valve responds accordingly to maintain the idle speed stability. 2. When the main working parameters of the engine deviate from the normal value, the valve is used to adjust the idle speed. Idle speed is adjusted by adjusting the amount of air bypassing the throttle body. After the engine is started, open the idle speed regulating valve for a period of time to supplement the air intake, so as to increase the idle speed of the engine by about 150 r/min-300 r/min; 3. When the engine antifreeze temperature is low, the idle speed regulating valve is opened to realize the medium speed and fast idle speed. The computer adjusts the position of the plunger of the idle speed regulating valve by changing the signal intensity transmitted to the idle speed regulating valve according to different antifreeze temperatures.
