What is the difference between early autumn and late autumn?

The ancients in China set 24 solar terms to guide agricultural production according to the angle of the solar longitude, and the solar terms basically correspond to the solar calendar, and beginning of autumn is one of them. The time in beginning of autumn is fixed in the solar calendar, mostly on August 7th or 8th every year.

The ancients did not have a solar calendar, only a lunar calendar. So as far as the lunar calendar is concerned, the time difference in beginning of autumn is quite large. In early autumn, June is early autumn, July is late autumn, sometimes as long as a month. In ancient China, the moon was also recorded according to heavenly stems and earthly branches, and the solar terms became the starting and ending points of the month. Beginning of autumn corresponds to the beginning of the application of the moon, that is, the seventh month of the year. Besides, beginning of autumn usually appears at the turn of June and July in the lunar calendar, so some people compare the coolness and heat of July in the lunar calendar with beginning of autumn in the morning and evening. If the early autumn is established in June, and all the days in July are after beginning of autumn, the probability will be cooler; If late autumn is in July, then July is only half a month later than beginning of autumn.

Early autumn, cold, late autumn, hot. In early autumn, the air is crisp and the temperature drops rapidly, which is in obvious contrast with summer. If it is in the late early autumn, there will be a very hot time, which is what we call "autumn tiger"

There is also a saying that judging early autumn or late autumn should be based on beginning of autumn time: if beginning of autumn time is in the morning, the weather is cool; If beginning of autumn time is after afternoon, it will be hot for some time. For example, this year's beginning of autumn time is 3: 00 on August 8th, 12: 57, so it should be "early autumn", and it will get cold later. However, meteorologists believe that the main factors affecting the weather are atmospheric circulation, solar radiation, underlying surface conditions and human activities, and there is no scientific basis for the statement that beginning of autumn will affect the weather in the morning and evening.
