When does the summer dive start?

The "dog days" in summer generally refer to the hottest 30-40 days in the Central Plains.

The so-called "heat is in dog days", and summer is the hottest period, characterized by "high temperature and high humidity".

The "fu" in dog days means "fu evil", that is, the "summer evil" in the six evils of traditional Chinese medicine (wind, cold, summer heat, dampness, dryness and fire). Many people say that it is not only hot, but also stuffy and wet, and it is particularly easy to get sick and uncomfortable.

"Three Volts" can be divided into three stages: initial volt, middle volt and no volt, and its period is calculated by matching the solar term date with the supporting day.

Of course, the dog days are calculated according to the lunar calendar, and basically fall between the middle and late July and the early August of the solar calendar.

2. How to calculate the accommodation time?

According to the almanac, "Three years is summer", and Xia Hou's "Geng Day" is the basis for determination. It means from the summer solstice to the third "more" day, that is, the first autumn.

The Geng Day here refers to the days prefixed with "Geng" in the ancient Japanese law of Ganzhi. For example, this year's summer solstice solar term is June 2 1 in the solar calendar, which is the fourth day. June 26th is the "Geng Rising Sun", the first "Geng Rising Sun";

Then every 10 day is the Gengshen Day on July 6 of Gregorian calendar, which is the second Gengshen Day; There will be 10 day, that is, July 16 of the Gregorian calendar is the 1898 Day; Then on July 26th, Chen Geng Day, the third Chen Geng Day, the dog days officially began!

Usually, the fixed time of the first volt is 10 day, the last volt is 10 day, but the middle volt may be 10 day or 20 days. Therefore, the time of "dog days" is uncertain and should be calculated according to the actual situation.

There is a saying in China, "Summer solstice is three Geng, summer solstice is four Geng, summer solstice is four Geng, and autumn is one Geng." It means that the third Geng Day after long summer is the first day of the solstice and the beginning of the dog days. The fourth Geng day after the summer solstice is midsummer; The first watch after beginning of autumn is the starting point of the future.

This year's beginning of autumn falls on August 7th in Gregorian calendar, followed by Gengzi Day on August 15 in Gregorian calendar, which is the start time of the last autumn.

To sum up, there are five shifts between summer solstice and autumn this year, namely:

Geng Xu on June 26th, Gengshen on July 6th, Wu Geng on July 16, Chen Geng on July 26th and Gengyin on August 5th. The third Geng Day is July of 16, and the first autumn begins. August 15 started at the end of Gengzi and ended on August 24th.
