Why don't you suggest washing the throttle?

It is not recommended to clean the throttle valve, because the throttle valve is a mechanical device composed of precision metal and plastic, which will be damaged by humidity, temperature change and corrosion.

Cleaning is not good for the throttle, but may increase its wear and tear, destroy its function, and lead to oil leakage or air leakage. If the cleaning is too frequent or the cleaning solution is not used properly, the dust-proof and antistatic coating on the throttle surface will be lost, which will make the throttle dirtier. The throttle valve needs cleaning, but not too often.

Because the car is used for a long time, the throttle will become dirty, and a layer of sludge and dirt will be attached to itself and the inner wall of the nearby airway, which is called carbon deposition. If the throttle valve is dirty and not cleaned, it will affect the intake of the engine, leading to engine idling jitter and flameout. Moreover, the acceleration of the car will not be smooth and the fuel consumption will increase.

Function of throttle valve

Whether it is a carburetor car or an EFI car, the function of the throttle is the same. It controls and regulates the air intake of the engine. After air enters through the throttle, it is mixed with gasoline to form an oil-gas mixture. The fuel injection of the carburetor sucks the gasoline in the carburetor through the negative pressure formed by the airflow in the intake pipe, and enters the cylinder after mixing.

This way is extensive and unevenly distributed, which affects emissions. The electrical signals provided by the air flow sensor and the air pressure sensor near the throttle are used by the fuel injectors, and the driving computer controls the fuel injectors in the intake manifold according to various parameters. Therefore, the air intake determines the air intake of air-fuel mixture, and the throttle opening also determines the air intake of air-fuel mixture.
