What year is behind the dragon?
The Year of the Loong is followed by year of the snake. The order of the zodiac is: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog and pig, so the Year of the Loong is followed by year of the snake. Year of the snake is the fourth year of Guisi, and Guisi is the sixth in the earthly branch. Snake is one of the 12 Zodiacs, ranking sixth. The years of year of the snake are: 1905, 19 17, 1929, 194 1, 1953,1963. Year of the snake's calculation method is: the number of years in AD is divided by 12, and the remainder is 9 years, all of which are year of the snake. The formula is: the number of years in AD ÷ 12= a quotient, and the remainder is 9. For example: 20 13÷ 12= quotient is 167, and the remainder is 9, then 20 13 is year of the snake. It should be noted that among the traditional 24 solar terms in China, year of the snake is counted from beginning of spring, because the zodiac year is a calendar year attached to trunks and branches, and the calendar year of trunks and branches is the calendar year method of trunks and branches.
