How to adjust the motorcycle carburetor Pz26?

PZ26 carburetor is widely used by many 125cc straddle-type motorcycles. Some 150cc straddle-type motorcycles will also use this type of carburetor. Although their manufacturers are different, the basic adjustment method is the same. But it does not rule out that there may be individual differences sometimes. For example, the specific adjustment revolutions of the mixing ratio screw may not be exactly the same, so it is sometimes necessary to make adaptive adjustment according to the actual situation.

The carburetor of PZ26 motorcycle is shown in the above figure. The parts that can be adjusted are mainly idle speed, mixing ratio, oil level height and oil needle height, and other aspects are basically not adjustable. The adjustment of idle speed shall be carried out in the hot car state, which shall prevail. It is normal that the cold car starts with low idle speed, unstable idle speed or even no idle speed. When the cold car starts to warm up, the damper should be properly matched with the throttle, as long as the idle speed is stable after the hot car.

The mixing of this carburetor is thinner than that of screwing in clockwise and screwing out counterclockwise. Generally speaking, screw the mixing ratio screw clockwise to the end, and then pull it out counterclockwise for about two to two and a half turns. Specific adjustments should be made in light of the actual situation. Its oil level is about 5 mm-10 mm from the top of the float chamber, so it generally does not need to be adjusted. If adjustment is needed, just pull the small iron piece on the float to push the float needle valve. Generally, it is enough to set the clamp spring in the middle of the oil needle of the accelerator plunger, and problems may occur if it is too high or too low.

Most carburetors of motorcycles have been adjusted before leaving the factory, and no adjustment is needed under special circumstances. If adjustment is really necessary, it should also be carried out by maintenance personnel with professional maintenance experience in combination with the actual situation.
