When did September 19 start?
Nineteen is one of the "nine numbers". Jiujiu, also known as Winter Jiujiu, is a folk solar term in China. Counting nine starts at the end of winter in the solar calendar of 65438+ February every year, and counts nine every nine days until 81 days, when the weather will be warm. In fact, it is "99-99, plowing cattle everywhere", and 90 days is 9 days.
There is no exact information about when the custom of counting nine originated. However, it was popular at least in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In ancient times, especially in northern China, the conditions for working people to keep warm from the cold were simpler than their descendants. Winter is regarded as a threat and punishment, which directly affects people's mood and even makes them feel that winter is inexplicably long.
At that time, in order to survive the long winter, the people of China invented the method of "counting nine" to pass the time, so as to alleviate the psychological crisis under the threat of winter.
Extended data
In winter solstice, although the sun is low and the days are short, the temperature in winter solstice is not the lowest in meteorology. In fact, because there is still "accumulated heat" on the surface, it is usually not very cold before the winter solstice, and the real cold is after the winter solstice.
Because of the huge climate difference in China, this climatic winter is obviously late for most parts of China. The winter solstice marks the beginning of the cold season, and people begin to count to nine to calculate the cold weather (folk proverb: "The summer solstice is three Geng, and the winter solstice is nine").
