What does Meng Zhongji stand for?
In ancient times, Bo (Meng), Zhong, Shu and Ji were often used to express the order of the young and the old. For example, Bo Yi and Shu Qi, the word Confucius, because it ranked second, had "Zhong" in it. Meng Zhe said, "Meng, Nagano." That is, Meng Zhi ranks the oldest. Zhong said, "Zhong, Zhong also." Secondary means middle ranking. "
Ji, Shuo Wen: "Ji, say less." Ji Shu, for example, later extended to the bottom, such as the third place. After Meng, Zhong and Ji extended the monthly order. According to the lunar calendar, the ancients divided a year into four seasons, with three months in each season, totaling twelve months, and matched Meng Zhongji with three months in each season. "Every four seasons, there are spring, summer, autumn and winter, and each has Meng Zhongji, named December" (Yi Zhou Shu Zhou Yue).
When expressing months, Meng means the first month of each season, Zhong means the second month, and Ji means the last month, that is, the third month. Of course, it's all about the lunar calendar, which is the lunar calendar.
