The first is that the engine automatically shuts down at idle speed. This situation is probably due to the problem of throttle and idle motor, which may be serious carbon deposition or damage, resulting in insufficient air intake of the engine. In addition, it is necessary to check the air filter element, intake pressure sensor and other components.

The second is that there is no problem with idling, but it will turn off when you step on the accelerator. In this case, in addition to the above air intake system, it is also necessary to check whether there are problems in the fuel system, such as fuel pump, fuel nozzle and fuel gallery.

The third is that the engine will turn off as soon as it enters idle speed. The reasons for this situation are usually the damage of idle motor (including wiring), the damage of vacuum tube or film of brake vacuum booster, and the failure of idle control module in ECU.

Troubleshooting method of idling flameout

Under the condition that the fuel quantity is sufficient, we can check the fuel pump, fuel nozzle, spark plug and other parts in turn, and replace them if there is any problem. If there is no problem, we will go on to the next step and check whether there is any problem with the on-board computer (ECU). We can focus on checking the OBD fault code of the engine, because some models will automatically shut down the engine to protect themselves in order to prevent greater losses.
