Does the throttle need cleaning?

When many car owners go to 4S shops to do car maintenance, they often hear people in 4S shops ask you if you want to clean the throttle, so many car owners who don't know much about it think that since they want to do car maintenance, they should simply do the whole set, so they choose to clean the throttle. Others say that the throttle doesn't need to be cleaned often, otherwise it will be washed away easily. So do you need to clean the throttle frequently? How often is it appropriate to clean?

First of all, by the way, how does the throttle work? There are two kinds of throttle valves: traditional cable throttle valve and electronic throttle valve. Among them, the traditional engine throttle control mechanism works through a pull wire (soft steel wire) or a pull rod, one end of the pull wire is connected with an accelerator pedal, and the other end of the pull rod is connected with an accelerator linkage plate. The driver steps on the pedal and finally pulls the flap in the middle of the accelerator through the transmission of power. The larger the flap opening, the larger the air intake and the stronger the power output of the engine.

But now most cars belong to electronic accelerator, and the accelerator has nothing to do with the accelerator pedal. When the driver steps on the accelerator pedal, the sensor on the accelerator pedal will send this signal to ecu, and then ecu will directly control the accelerator opening. The electronic throttle can control the intake air of the engine more accurately, so that the fuel burns more and more fully and the power is enhanced.

The throttle valve needs cleaning, but it doesn't need to be cleaned frequently. The reason why 4S shops often ask this question is because it is for profit, and it only earns a little more. The reason why the throttle valve needs to be cleaned is because with the increase of automobile service time, a certain amount of carbon deposit will be produced, and the throttle valve is a place where carbon deposit is relatively easy to form. The increase of carbon deposition in the throttle will further affect the air intake, resulting in poor air intake and exhaust, and even the throttle cannot be closed. In this way, the power of the car is easily affected, such as idling jitter, slow acceleration response, weak acceleration and high fuel consumption.

Why can't you clean it often? Due to the special coating on the throttle valve, this coating has the functions of dustproof, antistatic and reducing colloid adhesion. Excessive cleaning will gradually remove the special coating of the inner cavity of the throttle valve, and the inner cavity will lose the coating, which is more likely to cause greasy adhesion, so that the throttle valve is easier to get dirty and the cleaning cycle is shorter. Therefore, it is suggested to clean the throttle according to the vehicle power feedback. If the idle speed of the vehicle is unstable, it is difficult to start and the speed is weak, it is not too late to clean it again.
