Why eat pears?

Today, we are welcoming the third solar term-fear of spring. When you enter the mid-spring stage after the fright, you should pay attention to eating less greasy and high-sugar foods and more light fruits and vegetables and protein-rich ingredients. Because the weather is dry, there is no shortage of food to nourish yin and reduce fire.

Why eat pears?

Pronuncially speaking, "pear" is homophonic with "Li". There is a folk saying in northern Jiangsu and Shanxi that "eating pears in shock is refreshing for a whole year!" . It is said that eating pears can keep pests away from crops and get a bumper harvest.

However, from a health point of view, it is because of the sudden warmth and cold during this period of fright, and the dry climate makes people thirsty and cough due to exogenous factors. Eating pears can clear away heat, relieve cough and eliminate phlegm, help temper, and make the five internal organs calm, so you can eat them often in spring.
