Does the solstice in winter mean reunion?
The winter solstice is an ancient festival. As early as two thousand years ago, people began to celebrate this season, commonly known as "Winter Festival", "Dragon Solstice Festival" and "Asian New Year". Hanshu said, "The sun shines on the winter solstice, so I congratulate you." It is said that it is more important than Chinese New Year.
It is also a solar term reflecting climate change. In everyone's mind, the cool climate is weakening, the sun is shining, and underground springs are beginning to sprout, which is a sign that winter is over and spring is coming. Therefore, everyone is full of hope. I believe that after this stage, the season of warm spring in bloom will soon come.
During the folk winter solstice, many places have the habit of offering sacrifices to festivals, so everyone will get together for a sumptuous meal, which also symbolizes reunion.
The origin of winter solstice
Due to the gap between the lunar calendar and the solar calendar, the winter solstice season in China is generally around12,21~ 23 every year, and the night of winter solstice is very long. During the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, twenty-four solar terms were used to guide the agricultural season, and the solar terms were mainly divided by the average time method, so that the date between the winter solstice and the next winter solstice was called Zhongqi, and then it was called Zhongqi.
In ancient times, people thought that the winter solstice was a natural transformation of Yin and Yang, and everyone should hold a ceremony to celebrate winter. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was in the East, and it was necessary to worship the heavens and ancestors.
