The electronic throttle has no idle motor. When the accelerator is idling without stepping on the accelerator, the accelerator plate also has a small opening to let air and gas enter the idling state, that is, it can never be completely closed. If the throttle is dirty, carbon deposits will occupy the throttle passage, and the narrow passage will hinder the smooth entry of air, resulting in insufficient air intake and unstable or even impossible idling.

The electronic throttle has the function of automatic adjustment. When it is detected that carbon deposits are blocking some passages, the throttle valve should be opened a little larger at idle speed, that is, the larger the throttle valve opening, the larger the passage and the more empty the air entering. However, the ability of self-regulation is limited, and it is impossible to increase it indefinitely. When it is set to the maximum, the idle speed will be unstable.

The electronic throttle has self-adjusting function and needs to be matched after cleaning. Assuming that the throttle opening is 8% when there is no carbon deposit, the throttle opening will increase when there is carbon deposit. Assuming that it reaches 18%, the carbon deposit will be cleaned up. The throttle cannot be known for a short time after cleaning, so the computer will think that the opening is still 18% when idling.

Now that the carbon deposit is gone, the throttle valve is unobstructed, and the opening of 18% will lead to excessive intake air, increased idle speed or unstable idle speed. Throttle matching is to restore the computer value to 8% idle speed, that is, to keep the computer and throttle consistent, so that everything is normal.
