Therefore, in ancient folk, the folk customs of summer solar terms are mostly related to ancestor worship and welcoming autumn. Because it is the harvest season of crops, farmers have to hold various ceremonies to thank the land god.

During the summer solar term, farmers in Chengdu held a grand "taste the new" ceremony with newly harvested rice. In the southwest corner of Chengdu, farmers here call harvesting rice "millet". People first harvest rice in the field, and then thresh it by hand in a mixing bucket to separate the millet from the straw. "After the millet is ready, put the wet millet stand on the bamboo mat and turn it over to dry. Finally, pick the millet to the mill and grind it into new rice, and carry it home happily.
