How to calculate nominal age
The calculation method of conceptual age is based on the China lunar calendar, which is different from the Gregorian calendar. In the Gregorian calendar, a year is based on 365 days, while in the lunar calendar, the length of a year is determined according to the laws of the moon, which is about 354 to 355 days, so there is a difference between the Gregorian calendar and the lunar calendar.
The calculation formula of nominal age is as follows: (current Gregorian calendar year-Gregorian calendar year of birth)+1 = nominal age. Give an example to illustrate. Suppose someone was born on June 5438+ 10/day (Gregorian calendar) in 2000, then that person will be one year old on New Year's Day in 200 1 year, and his nominal age will be two years old in 200 1 year. By analogy, of course, the actual age is calculated according to the Gregorian calendar birthday.
Because the calculation of nominal age is based on the lunar calendar, if a person is born before the first day of the lunar year, his nominal age may be smaller than his actual age. However, if a person is born after the first day of the first lunar month in the Gregorian calendar, his nominal age may be older than his actual age. This is because there is a certain deviation between the time of the Lunar New Year and the time of the Gregorian New Year.
The nominal age is of great significance in the traditional culture of China, which reflects a person's age under the traditional lunar calendar age calculation method and is the benchmark for calculating important moments and traditional festivals in life. The concept of nominal age is also applied to some solar terms, lunar zodiac, health habits and so on.
Imaginary age is a traditional age calculation method in China, which is based on the lunar calendar and different from the Gregorian calendar. The formula for calculating the nominal age is (current Gregorian calendar year-Gregorian calendar year of birth)+1 = nominal age, but attention should be paid to the deviation between the Lunar New Year and the Gregorian New Year, which may lead to some differences between the nominal age and the actual age. The nominal age is of great significance in China culture and is widely used in people's life and traditional customs.
The meaning of nominal age
1 year-old Sacrifice: In the traditional culture of China, the time of 65-year-old sacrifice is determined by the imaginary age. The 20-year-old sacrifice refers to the traditional sacrifice activity calculated according to the age of the lunar calendar, and the corresponding sacrifice is carried out according to the date of the lunar calendar. These sacrificial activities usually include offering sacrifices to ancestors and gods, as well as rituals and prayers at specific times.
2. Celebrate the Spring Festival: The nominal age also plays an important role in the Spring Festival celebrations in China. In the Lunar New Year, that is, the Spring Festival, people usually celebrate their birthdays by increasing their nominal age by one year. This is a time for family reunion and gathering of relatives and friends. People will bless each other and exchange gifts, and carry out various traditional activities, such as putting up couplets, hanging lanterns and setting off firecrackers, to welcome the New Year.
3. Lunar Zodiac: The nominal age is also related to the lunar zodiac. The Lunar Zodiac is the representative of the China Zodiac, which is closely related to the nominal age. Every year in the Lunar New Year, the zodiac will change, which means that people's nominal age has increased by one year, and the new zodiac represents the year. Zodiac is also often used to predict people's character, good or bad luck, fortune and so on.
