When was there no beginning of spring?
The dates of solar terms in the summer and lunar calendars are not fixed. China's traditional calendar summer calendar is a combination of yin and yang: "Yin" means that its calendar month is based on the average length of the first lunar month of 29.5306 days, and the first day of each month is the first lunar month; "Yang" refers to the Spring Festival, which is based on the tropical year and a new moon before or after the beginning of spring every year, that is, the first day of the first month of a year. The average year of Gregorian calendar 12 is only 354 or 355 days, and some years are only 353 days. 13 is a leap month year with 383 or 384 days, and some years are as long as 385 days and can contain 25 solar terms. In this way, there is a "beginning of spring" at the beginning and the end of each year, which becomes a "double spring year", while there are only 23 solar terms in the second year, so there is no "beginning of spring" and it becomes a "spring-free year".
It can be seen that "no spring" after "double spring" is completely the result of calendar arrangement according to certain rules, and it often appears.
There is no "beginning of spring" in the whole year, and 19 will appear seven times. For example, 199 1 Year of the Sheep, 1994 Year of the Dog, 1997 Year of the Ox, 2000 the Year of the Loong, 2002 Year of the Horse, 2005 Year of the Rooster, 2008 Year of the Rat, 20 10 Year of the Tiger and 2008.
