Climate situation in Yulin area
Yulin City is located in the northernmost part of Shaanxi Province, at the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Mongolia and Shanxi provinces (regions), between east longitude10728'-115' and north latitude 36 57'-39 34'. The Yellow River runs more than 270 kilometers to the south along the eastern boundary, and the Ming Great Wall runs more than 700 kilometers from east to west. The area is 385 kilometers long from east to west and 263 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 43,578 square kilometers. Geomorphology is generally bounded by the Great Wall. The beach area in the north accounts for 42% of the total area, and the loess hilly and gully area in the south accounts for 58% of the total area. Average elevation 1000 to1500m. There are 53 rivers flowing into the Yellow River, mainly the "four major rivers in Sichuan": Wuding River, Tuwei River, Kuye River, Jia Luhe, Huangfuchuan, Gushan River, Qingshuichuan and Shimachuan. There are more than 200 inland lakes in the northern sandy area. Hongjiannao is the largest inland lake in Shaanxi, with a total area of 67 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 654.38 billion cubic meters. Yulin's climate belongs to warm temperate zone and temperate semi-arid continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, large daily range and short frost-free period. The annual average temperature is 10℃, the average precipitation is about 400 mm, and the frost-free period is about 150 days. There are many meteorological disasters, such as drought, frost, rainstorm, strong wind and hail, which occur to varying degrees almost every year, especially drought, hail and frost.
Yulin is located in the transition zone between Mu Us Desert and Loess Plateau, with serious wind erosion, desertification and soil erosion. The hilly and gully region in the southeast is the most serious area of soil erosion in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the state has listed Yulin as a key area to prevent and control desertification, and 12 counties have organized and implemented a number of key projects, such as returning farmland to forests and grasslands, natural forest protection projects, and the fourth phase of shelterbelts in northern Shaanxi. Yulin people have insisted on "controlling soil in the south and sand in the north" for decades, with the "300 Trees" project as the leader, and accumulated soil erosion of 26,400 square kilometers, accounting for 55% of the soil erosion area; Reduce the sediment discharge of the Yellow River by 240 million tons every year, which is 43.5% lower than that of the 1950s. The coverage rate of forest and grass in the city has reached 30%, and the forest preservation area is 6.5438+0.629 million mu. Of the 8.6 million mu of quicksand in the sand area, more than 6 million mu have been fixed and semi-fixed, and the sand has been returned from the sand.
