Explanation of the scenic spots in the Imperial Palace Royal Garden
The Imperial Garden is located on the central axis of the Forbidden City, behind the Palace of Kunning. It was called the back garden of the court in the Ming Dynasty and the imperial garden in the Qing Dynasty. This is the place where the queen rests and entertains after dinner. It is also used for sacrifice, retirement, book collection and reading. The Royal Garden has a small area, and it is a palace garden with exquisite architecture and compact layout. The royal garden is small in area, beautifully built and compact in layout.
It is only 80 meters from north to south, and 140 meters from east to west. Pavilions and pagodas, ancient cypress pagodas, and this strange flower and grass are scattered all over the place, which makes the whole garden quaint and quiet without losing the taboo of the court. Every year, activities such as climbing mountains and enjoying the moon are held here. This visit to the park is a state of mind. When Emperor Kangxi was in a bad mood, he often came to the imperial garden to relax and think about things.
In the middle of the garden, near the north, there is the A Qin An Dian, which is the main building in the garden and dedicated to the Zhenwu Emperor of Taoism. Legend has it that Zhenwu Emperor is the water god, so every year, seasonal emperors such as beginning of spring, Changxia, beginning of autumn and beginning of winter set up Dojo in Qing 'an Hall to pray for the water god, bless the palace and put out the fire.
On the east side of Qin 'an Hall, there is a Cooper nearly eight meters high, which was sealed as a shadow throat by Emperor Qianlong. He is the most famous in the whole garden. According to legend, when Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, the weather was very hot, and his followers were sweating every day. Only grandpa ganlong went home cool all the way. These people are puzzled and inadvertently come to the imperial garden.
Look at this Cooper. It withered after you left Beijing. Now that you are back, it has grown new leaves. Presumably, this tree secretly followed you to Jiangnan, trying to shelter you from the wind and rain. So the law named the tree Yin Throat.
