Earth-regulated temperature

Glaciers can cool the earth, store water and freeze microorganisms. Glaciers are extremely important to the earth. If a large number of glaciers melt, the sea level will rise rapidly, leading to the inundation of cities, the living environment of life on the earth will be reduced, the temperature of the earth will rise sharply, and those frozen microorganisms will reappear, thus polluting the marine environment.

Glaciers reflect the sun's sunlight to cool the earth, so that the earth's temperature will not be too high, which is an important means for the earth to adjust the temperature. This truth is like, on a sunny day after snow, the snow on the roadside is dazzling, because the snow on the ground reflects the sunlight. However, due to the intensification of the greenhouse effect and the rise of temperature, a large number of glaciers melt, which also leads to the weakening of this means of temperature regulation.

Glacier is a huge water storage resource on the earth. Land accounts for 19% of the earth, and the remaining 7 1% is ocean. Take Antarctica as an example, it has 70% fresh water resources in the world. The use of fresh water produced by melting glaciers can effectively solve the drought problem, but the transportation process is troublesome. If a large number of glaciers melt, it will lead to a rapid rise in sea level and leave it to terrestrial organisms.

Another function of glaciers is to freeze microorganisms. Some microorganisms will pollute the marine environment. Glaciers just freeze these microorganisms. If the glacier melts, the microorganisms buried in the ice sheet will contact the ocean again and then spread out, polluting marine life and marine environment, thus indirectly threatening human health.
