Xiaoman is the eighth of the 24 solar terms. It is called Xiaoman when the sun reaches 60 degrees on May 20-22 of the Gregorian calendar every year.

Xiaoman is one of the 24 solar terms, which are the product of ancient farming civilization. The twenty-four solar terms were originally determined by the rotation direction of Beidou bucket handle.
