The State Council, China issued a notice on the portal of the central government, and published the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.

The notice said that the State Council approved the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list (item 5 18) determined by the Ministry of Culture, and it is now published.

The circular pointed out that China is an ancient civilization with a long history and rich cultural heritage. Intangible cultural heritage is an important part of cultural heritage, a witness of China's history and an important carrier of Chinese culture. It contains the unique spiritual value, mode of thinking, imagination and cultural awareness of the Chinese nation, and embodies the vitality and creativity of the Chinese nation. Protecting and making good use of intangible cultural heritage is of great and far-reaching significance for inheriting and carrying forward the excellent national cultural traditions, enhancing national unity and safeguarding national unity, enhancing national self-confidence and cohesion, and promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
