Crops in Qilihai Lake

Reed Qilihai is low-lying, with perennial water accumulation and reeds everywhere. Reed land covers an area of 55,000 mu (48,000 mu in the West Sea and 7,000 mu in the East China Sea), with an annual output of more than 30 million kilograms. It is the largest reed producing area in Tianjin. Reed is a kind of densely clustered rhizome herb, which has special asexual reproduction ability, strong tillering ability and adaptability to the environment. It grows thickly and can ensure the harvest in drought and flood. The locals call it "hardcore crop". Reed has many functions, such as regulating climate, purifying water quality and raising wild animals. It is also a good raw material for papermaking and textile, and has high economic value. Qilihai aquatic products, with vast waters, excellent water quality, lush reeds and rich natural bait, are very suitable for the growth of fish, shrimp and crabs, and are an important aquatic base in Tianjin. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that there are seven seas and three treasures: whitebait, purple crab and reed grass. The whitebait and purple crab rich in Qilihai were court tributes in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Qilihai has 45,000 mu of water surface to support. In normal years, the fish and crab farming is about 25,000 mu and 6,543.8+0.5 million mu respectively, and the annual output is 6,543.8+0.2 million Jin and more than 500,000 Jin respectively.

Qilihai is also a famous rice base in China. There are 6.5438+0.5 million mu of cultivated land in five towns and villages in the region, and as many as 45,000 mu of rice is planted, with a total output of about 20 million kilograms. The rice produced is white and pure, crystal clear, fragrant and elegant, and is famous at home and abroad.
