Comparison, festival characteristics and different reasons between Korean festivals and Manchu festivals
Economically and culturally, Manchu festivals are mostly related to fishing and hunting or military affairs, commemorating natural gods, ancestors and heroes. Most Korean festivals are related to agricultural harvest or 24 solar terms, and to respecting the elderly. The form of festivals is similar to that of Han nationality.
The root cause of the difference is the social and economic difference. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was an economic model combining fishing, hunting and farming, and later it was transformed into a military economy. The early Koreans also belonged to fishing and hunting economy, and later transformed into farming economy. Different social and economic production has created different national cultures, so festivals are also different.
