What do you mean get out of the way?

It means that after the dog days, the dog days will pass.

Three volts, the initial, middle and final volts, is the hottest period of the year. "V" means being forced to hide underground. The dog days appear in the Gregorian calendar from mid-July to mid-August every year, and its climatic characteristics are high temperature, low pressure, high humidity and low wind speed. The so-called "heat is in three volts" can be divided into initial, middle and final three volts, and its date is determined by the date of the solar terms. ?

According to the traditional calculation method in China, the third watch from summer to the future is the beginning of the first fall, the fourth watch is the beginning of the middle fall, and the first watch after beginning of autumn is the beginning of the final fall. Because every Geng day is 10 days apart, the stipulated time of the first day and the last day is 10 days.

The number of days in midsummer is long or short, which may be 10 or 20 days, depending on the date of the third Geng Day (the first autumn) after the solar term of summer solstice every year.

Ancient dog days

The "dog days" are determined according to the ancient "method of keeping records of the sun by the cadres and branches". Every summer to the future, the third Geng Day (referring to the day with the word "Geng" on the trunk and branches) is the beginning period, the fourth Geng Day is the middle period, and the first Geng Day after beginning of autumn is the end period, collectively referred to as the dog days. As the saying goes, "the heat is at three volts." Three volts refers to three consecutive periods of initial, intermediate and final voltage.

From summer to the future, the third Geng day is the first day of initial dive, the fourth Geng day is the first day of middle dive, and the first Geng day after beginning of autumn is the last day of dive, each of which is 10 days, but in some years it is 20 days, such as 2005. Generally speaking, in the "dog days", the average temperature is the highest in the "middle range".

Of course, this calculation method of the ancients is somewhat different, and it is not necessarily closely combined with the meteorological reality of that year. The extreme maximum temperature in all parts of the year does not necessarily appear in the "middle volt" or even in the "three volts". But in any case, "dog days" are really hot summer days, so we should pay attention to heatstroke prevention and cooling.
