When does autumn begin?
Beginning of autumn is the thirteenth of the twenty-four solar terms, and it is the beginning of autumn. The bucket refers to the southwest and the sun reaches longitude 135. It is the beginning of the festival on August 7 or 8 of the Gregorian calendar every year. "Autumn" means the maturity of five grains, and the change of the whole nature is a gradual process. Beginning of autumn is the turning point when the Yang gradually closes and the Yin gradually grows, and the Yang gradually turns into the Yin. In nature, everything begins to grow from lush to mature.
Beginning of autumn is the third hot solar term among the 24 solar terms, second only to Daxia and Xiaoxia. According to the order of solar terms, beginning of autumn is followed by summer, and autumn is the second solar term "Summer comes" (the last summer). Twenty-four solar terms include "three summers" (slight summer heat, great summer heat and summer heat), and there is a "beginning of autumn" solar term in the middle of the "three summers", after beginning of autumn. "Three summers" and "dog days" both represent hot and extremely hot weather, and "dog days" involve four solar terms: mild summer, severe summer, beginning of autumn and severe summer.
Meteorological changes in early autumn
Autumn means rainfall, humidity, etc. At the turning point of the year, it tends to decline or decrease, and the seasons change, and the rainfall, dryness and wetness in the southern region change obviously; In the north, the obvious change is the temperature. After entering autumn, in nature, the qi of Yin and Yang began to change, everything began to grow from lush to bleak, and the climate began to transition from rainy and humid in summer to dry and rainy in autumn. Beginning of autumn indicates the beginning of seasonal changes, but it doesn't mean that the temperature will drop immediately.
The watershed between summer heat and summer heat is not in the beginning of autumn solar term, but the real coolness usually comes after the Millennium solar term. After beginning of autumn, there are "autumn tigers", which mostly occur from late August to September in the Gregorian calendar every year. This period is usually about half a month after the annual summer heat, and sometimes it lasts for one or two months. However, the "autumn tiger" does not necessarily appear every year. Meteorological data show that this hot climate often lasts until the middle and late September, and the weather will gradually cool down.
