Eight planets and nine planets
In the solar system? There used to be nine planets. In addition to these larger planets, there are many smaller planets in the solar system, which are distributed in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. In 2006, the 26th International Astronomical Union held in Prague, Czech Republic passed a resolution to downgrade Pluto to a dwarf planet, so the solar system has now become eight planets. Therefore, the nine planets officially entered history and became eight planets.
