How to read and understand automobile circuits?

There are three common expressions of automobile circuit diagram: circuit diagram, schematic diagram and wiring diagram.

I. Key points of circuit diagram interpretation:

1. Have a certain understanding of the structure and principle of the electrical equipment used in this vehicle, and have clear specifications for its electrical equipment;

2. Identify the names and quantities of all the electrical equipment of the automobile and their actual installation positions on the automobile through reading;

3. By reading and understanding the numbers and names of the terminals of automobile electrical equipment, we can understand the practical significance of each terminal.

Second, the explanatory points of the schematic diagram:

1. Read each terminal of each electrical equipment and which terminal of which circuit equipment is connected;

2. Read the branch line direction where the circuit equipment is located;

3. Read the structure and function of switches, safety devices and relays on the sub-line.

Third, the main points of reading the wiring diagram:

1. Know how many wire harnesses there are in the whole vehicle, the name of each wire harness and the actual installation position of each wire harness on the car.

2. Identify which electrical equipment is connected to the car by the branch forks on each wire harness, how many wires there are in each branch fork, their colors and labels, and which terminals they are connected to;

3. Determine which connectors are available and which electrical devices they should be connected to.
