Can carburetor cleaner clean the throttle?

It is best not to use carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle! Cleaning the throttle with carburetor will cause engine idling instability, fuel consumption increase, throttle stuck, cruise system failure and other failures.

Throttle, as an important part of intake flow control of advanced fuel EFI system, has been widely used in engines.

Carburetor cleaning agent can effectively and quickly remove the glue formed in carburetor. Carburetor cleaning agent is a dry cleaning agent. What is its main ingredient? Benzene? . As the core component of the fuel supply system of gasoline engine, carburetor is used to mix air with gasoline and provide a certain proportion of mixed gas to the combustion chamber. Because the content of sulfide in gasoline in China is seriously exceeding the standard, the colloid formed by sulfide in gasoline will block the carburetor for a period of time, which will lead to the failure of carburetor control, unstable idle speed and poor acceleration.

① Carburetor cleaning agent has serious corrosiveness and expansibility to aprons. Cleaning the throttle valve with carburetor cleaner will make the oil seal on the idle motor corrode and expand, which will lead to unstable idle speed of the engine and increase fuel consumption.

(2) The carburetor cleaner has no lubrication function. Cleaning with the carburetor cleaner will completely remove the original lubricating oil on the throttle, resulting in the failure of the throttle operation, electronic throttle control and cruise control device.

③ Generally, the inner cavity of electronic throttle is treated with special coating, which has the functions of anti-static, non-vacuuming and reducing the formation of colloid on its surface. Carburetor cleaning agent has serious damage to the special coating on the throttle valve, which leads to the increase of idle speed and fuel consumption.

(4) Long-term use of carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle will make the throttle gum form faster and faster, so it should be cleaned frequently. If combined with improper operation, it will easily lead to frequent failures and high maintenance costs. Finally, the throttle needs to be replaced.
